Club Mer is an educational programme introduced at Veranda Paul et Virginie in September 2024. It targets at-risk youth aged 14–17 from ANFEN schools in Grand Gaube, helping them discover the marine world while building life skills.
The curriculum includes swimming and snorkelling instruction, coral and seagrass study, water quality testing, and marine biology. Students follow a structured course with practical assessments and progress recognition.
Key outcomes to date:
- • Programme launched with three ANFEN schools
- • Marine biologists and certified swim trainers engaged
- • Weekly sessions combining theory and fieldwork
- • Structured certification pathway and school follow-up
