Now for tomorrow sustainability fund

A fund for people and nature
Launched in December 2022, the Now for Tomorrow Sustainability Fund enables guests to voluntarily support projects that benefit communities and the environment in Mauritius. Guests staying at Heritage Resorts and Veranda Resorts are encouraged to contribute MUR 100 in 4-star hotels and above, and MUR 50 in 3-star hotels, per room per night. While the contribution is suggested, guests remain free to adjust the amount or opt out.

Project selection is overseen by a committee representing key departments and sustainability leads. All projects supported by the fund are mapped against the five impact zones of the Now for Tomorrow framework:
Biodiversity
Circular economy
Vibrant communities
Inclusive development
Energy transition
Our Projects
Fighting food insecurity through NGO Foodwise
Through micro-donations, this partnership helps finance the distribution of essential food supplies to vulnerable families in Mauritius. It reinforces food security while encouraging a collective, supportive response to social needs.
Nurturing ocean stewardship through the Heritage Marine Education Centre
The Heritage Marine Education Centre raises awareness on marine ecosystems through site visits and ocean-based learning activities, welcoming over 3,500 people—including schoolchildren, educators, and hotel guests—since its opening in December 2024.
Growing sustainable futures with Club Terre
Hosted at Veranda Pointe aux Biches, Club Terre promotes sustainable agriculture and food autonomy through permaculture training. Youth and professionals learn to grow local fruits and vegetables in a forest-garden environment while restoring soil health and community knowledge.
Opening the ocean to youth with Club Mer
Implemented at Veranda Paul et Virginie, Club Mer engages at-risk teenagers in Grand Gaube in marine ecology, safety, and snorkelling. The project builds confidence, career exposure, and environmental awareness through structured learning and field activities.
Supporting vulnerable youth through Club Solidaire
Club Solidaire supports at-risk youth in Tamarin aged 5 to 17 through daily football training, nutritional support, and awareness sessions. The programme, run with Tamarin FC United, promotes inclusion, health, and community values.
Scaling local recycling with Plastic Odyssey’s micro-factory
Through the Now for Tomorrow programme, Heritage Resorts & Golf is co-funding Mauritius’ first plastic micro-factory in Bel Ombre. This decentralised facility will transform plastic waste into reusable material while contributing to national circular economy efforts.
